Sydney Dance Company (SDC)’s  New Breed  showcase of new choreography is always challenging and exciting, giving us much to ponder. This year’s featured works by four choreographers – Davide Di Giovanni, Ariella Casu, Lauren Langlois and Josh Mu. All four used recorded music.  First up was  In Walked Bud , choreographed by Di Giovanni. It was inspired by Thelonious Monk’s playful jazz piece of the same name. Sydney Dance Company (SDC)’s 2019 Pre Professional Year (PPY) graduation season,  PPY Revealed , consisted of four works — newly commissioned works by guest choreographers Idan Cohen, Leah Marojevic and Vicki Van Hout and a segment of  Lux Tenebris  originally created for SDC in 2015, by Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela — and here expanded to include the large ensemble of 26 dancers.  It was a mixed programme with something for everyone.
